GAAA and GSA Joint Membership for AAs
At the request of the Board of Directors of the Georgia Academy of Anesthesiologist Assistants, the GSA Board of Directors approved a joint membership program in July 2013 which creates a single pathway for AAs to join both organizations and enjoy the benefits of each. This collaboration better equips each organization to accomplish its mission of promoting education, research, advocacy and patient safety. AAs (both Fellows and Student members) are encouraged to serve on GSA and GAAA committees and to participate in the semi-annual meetings of both organizations which are held jointly in winter and summer.
Joint members in GSA/GAAA will receive benefits from both organizations for a combined fee of $150 a year for Fellows or a $75 one-time charge for Students. All fees and registrations will be collected by the GSA. Invoices for annual dues will be sent in November and payment required before April 1 of the following year. The funds collected for membership dues will be distributed as agreed by the boards of each organization.
Members of GSA and GAAA work side-be-side at the State Capitol and before regulatory agencies to protect patient safety, to assure that public policy promotes high quality anesthesia and perioperative care, and to advance the Anesthesia Care Team model.
